Equipment

In your saddle bag you should have

Tyre Levers
2 or 3 x tyre levers, the plastic ones like the picture are my favorite, metal ones are to be avoided as they can nick your tubes too easily.

Inner Tube
A spare inner tube is the quickest way to fix a puncture, just put it on and deal with the damaged tube once your home.

A puncture repair kit
A repair kit may seem like overkill if you have a spare tube, however I have had 3 punctures in one ride and without a repair kit I would have been walking 25 miles home.

A multi-tool
Multitools have most of the keys and gismos you will need to do small adjustments / repairs whilst out on a ride. Not that I am endorsing any make but the picture is the one I use.

Spanners
Spanners are sometimes required to remove either wheel, check your bike, if you have quick release then you can leave these behind.
